If you're the one holding everything together, this page is for you.

Arranging care for someone you love is a lot at once. The appointments, the meals, the stairs, the worry that doesn't switch off at night. You may be doing it from across town, around a job and your own family.

You don't have to do all of it yourself. A caregiver who shows up, learns how your mother likes her mornings and keeps her company can give you back your evenings, and give her back some independence.

How much help does your family need?

Care doesn't have to mean someone in the house all day. Pick the one that sounds closest. You can change it later as things change.

A few hours at a time

Part-time care

Regular visits for the part of the day that's hardest. A few hours for a morning routine, a meal and some company, once or several times a week.

  • Your loved one is mostly independent but needs a hand with showers, meals or getting out.
  • You want a friendly, regular check-in.
  • They're recovering at home and need support for a while.

Example: a caregiver from 8 to 11 am, a few days a week.

Most of the day

Full-time care

A caregiver with them for most of the day, every day, covering routines, meals, getting around and company.

  • They shouldn't be alone for long stretches.
  • Mobility or memory makes the day risky to manage alone.
  • You work, and you need the daytime covered.

Example: a caregiver from 8 am to 6 pm, every day.

Someone always there

Live-in care

A caregiver who lives in the home, for continuity through the day and someone close at night.

  • Nights are the hard part.
  • They need someone nearby at all hours.
  • Staying in their own home matters, and you want to keep it that way.

Example: a caregiver in the home day and night. The lighter hours are overnight presence.

Questions families ask first.

What's the difference between home care and home health?

Home care helps with daily living: bathing, meals, getting around, company and reminders. Home health is medical care from licensed clinicians, usually ordered by a doctor. We provide home care, which is non-medical.

Can we start with just a few hours?

Yes. Care can be part-time or full-time, and many families begin small and add hours as they see what helps. You can change the plan whenever things change.

How quickly can care begin?

It depends on what you need and who is available, so call and ask. Some families have reached us after a hospital discharge and had care arranged the same day.

Do caregivers help with bathing and personal care?

Yes. Hygiene assistance, including help with bathing and showering, is part of personal care. It's done privately, at your loved one's pace.

Do you give medication or provide nursing?

No. Our care is non-medical. A caregiver can remind someone when it's time for their medication, but doesn't provide nursing or medical treatment.

How are caregivers chosen and screened?

Who comes into your home matters more than anything else on this page. Guardian Angels to add here: how caregivers are screened, trained and checked, and the State license number.

How much does home care cost?

The cost depends on how many hours you need and what kind of care. Call us, tell us your situation and we'll talk you through it. Guardian Angels to add here: rates and the payment options you accept.

Where do you provide care?

Our office is in downtown Los Angeles. Guardian Angels to add here: the neighbourhoods and cities you serve.
